While the smartphone technology has grew, the concerning on the impact caused by radiation levels also. Radiation strong or weak, depending on the hardware equipment which those famous phone company use on its smartphones. For mobile phones that allow to sale in the US market must be through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to monitor or checking a certain levels of radiation’s absorption (Specific Absorption Rate) or SAR level must be less than 1.6 watts of 1kg. US FCC has set the highest price of the SAR, that the highest accident rate is 1.6 watts per kilogram of tissue or W 1.6W / kg. It means that the SAR values high, so radiation level is stronger also.

Radiation is extremely worrying because it may cause a serious impact to a higher risk of cancer. Based on the tests of the Federal Communications Commission stated that the radiation levels are high up on the phone; depending on the transmission band, that some smartphone may use a lot of band while a telephone conversation. Through this situation, the phone will make a higher-level radiation than the normal using.

Below are 5 models CNET researchers found that the highest radiation levels:

An uncomfortably rich SRK

Shahrukh Khan Source: Mid Day

After Forbes ranked Shahrukh Khan as the Indian celebrity making the most money at Rs 257 crore, Khan came out with a modest reply.
Talking about achieving the numero uno position in the wealth list, SRK said, “I don’t know what to say. I feel embarrassed about it. There are a lot of people behind me who take care of my business.
So their efforts cannot be undermined. Just like in films where it is made by someone else and my face is used, even in business it is managed by someone else and my face is used on magazines.
I like it though because I give good interviews but only after asking my associates how to go about it. Also being on Forbes is a good thing because it gives recognition to the kind of business that we are doing.”

In the Forbes list, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachan has made it to number two and three.

Samsung’s Galaxy S6: Metal, wireless charging are in, removable battery and microSD are out

The Galaxy S6’s Edge
Samsung announced its Galaxy S6 today, as expected, and many of the rumors about its design have proven true, including the decision to build both an Edge and non-Edge configuration (the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 respectively), as well as the lack of a swappable battery or microSD card. Samsung has compensated for these removals with a bevy of new features meant to appeal to the broad market — whatever else one can say about the Galaxy S6, it’s definitely not a warmed-over retread.

New technologies

The Galaxy S6 will use the same Exynos 7420 SoC as the Galaxy Note S4. But the chip in the S6 is built on Samsung’s 14nm process, not the 20nm technology that the Korean manufacturer used for the older phablet. The result is apparently a phone that’s 35 percent more energy efficient while being up to 20 percent faster (no benchmarks are yet available, so we’re taking Samsung’s word on this one).
Other improvements include a shift from DDR3 to DDR4, a bump to 3GB of RAM as standard (up from 2GB),and 32GB of minimum storage, up from 16GB. Samsung is also putting a heavy push behind wireless charging this time around, with support for both the WPC and PMA standards. There’s a new front-facing camera at 5MP as opposed to the previous 2MP (with an F1.9 lens), and an even higher-density AMOLED screen that Samsung says features 77 percent more pixels than the Galaxy S5. New fingerprint sensors, a louder speaker, and a set of application-level improvements round out the device. It’s also unclear how much those additional pixels boost the overall display quality — while I like high-resolution smartphones as much as anyone, we’ve long-since passed peak pixel density and are firmly in the territory of diminishing margial returns where simply adding pixels is concerned.
One new capability that takes advantage of the S6 Edge is the ability to assign colors to up to five specific contacts. Assign blue to your mother, for example, and the edge of the phone will glow blue when she calls. Samsung claims this allows you to know who’s calling before even picking up the phone to see, but whether or not this proves a practical innovation probably depends on how you store your phone. If you keep it in a pocket or purse, it’s of less value compared to leaving it face-down on your desk.
Samsung is also claiming that it can fast-charge the device, with a full charge in half the time of the iPhone 6 and with 10 minutes of charge time delivering enough power to use the device for four hours. Whether or not this requires special hardware is unknown and it presumably refers to wired charging not wireless.

Will consumers bite?

Unlike the Galaxy S5, which was generally seen as a rehash of the Galaxy S4 with incremental improvements (and whose sales suffered accordingly), the Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge are clearly a huge revamp of the entire product line. Samsung is attacking on multiple fronts — its new phone will have far more cores than the iPhone, it’s built on a more advanced process technology, the company claims its camera is better (as shown below), basic storage is higher, wireless charging is available, and there are even more payment systems in place. Even allowing for the fact that the Apple A8 SoC sets records as far as performance efficiency, Samsung’s quad-core Exynos should be quite competitive.

Samsung is particularly proud of the device’s camera, though independent testing will have to confirm its quality.
The one missing piece of the puzzle is price. Previous rumors indicated that the S6 would be priced well above Apple’s iPhone, and the features Samsung unveiled today seem to suggest that’ll be the case. This isn’t a cheap device by any stretch, but Samsung may well take a shot at the premium market as opposed to allowing Apple to dictate overall device pricing. That’s a risky strategy — consumers have historically seen Apple hardware as the market leader, and that company has a long history of capturing the top of its particular market segments.
The S6 has the hardware specs to be the next leading lady of the smartphone market. But price and overall device experience will determine whether the company can seize that crown.

Scientists have produced the world's first 100% recyclable biopolymer

This plastic is 100 percent reusable and petroleum-free.
A type of plastic that can be reheated for an hour and converted back to its original molecular state has been developed by researchers in the US, and being completely recyclable and reusable, petroleum-free, and able to broken down by living organisms, it could change everything about how we consume and reuse plastic.
Researchers at Colorado State University developed the polymer using a monomer called Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL), which is found in superglue removers and cleaning solutions. While the scientific literature has insisted for years that its chemical structure was too stable to convert into a plastic, the team went ahead and tried it anyway.
"'Don't even bother with this monomer,'" Chen said, quoting the conventional wisdom. "'You cannot make a polymer out of it because the measured reaction thermodynamics told you so.' We suspected that some of the previous reports were probably incorrect."
Right now, every single of one of us is consuming around 90 kilos (200 pounds) of synthetic polymers every year, most of which isn’t biodegradable or recyclable. More than 270 million tonnes of plastic is produced each year, and 18 million of that ends up in our oceans each year, adding to the 243,978 tonnes that have already accumulated.
While many of the plastic bottles and packages you use display a 'recyclable' symbol, they can only be reused to an extent. They can be processed and repurposed to give the plastic material a longer lifespan, but it’s not possible to convert them back to their base elements to start again.
The number of biodegradable plastics currently on the market come with the same limitations - only partially recyclable, and the process to extends their lifecycle results in unwanted byproducts. "The big drive now is to produce biorenewable and biodegradable polymers or plastics," says Chen. "That is, however, only one part of the solution, as biodegradable polymers are not necessarily recyclable, in terms of feedstock recycling."
That what’s so remarkable about this new type of bioplastic. Named poly(GBL), you just need heat it to between 220 and 300 degrees Celsius for an hour, and that’s all it takes to convert it back to GBL. Once back in GBL form, the polymerisation process can be begin again - under conditions of around -40 degrees Celsius, the monomer molecules react to form polymer chains or three-dimensional networks.
Chemist Eugene Chen and his team experimented with their new polymer, making different molecular shapes by changing up the catalysts - both metal-based and metal-free varieties - in the solution and elements of the production process. While scientists attempted the same thing 10 years ago, they couldn't figure out how to convert the GBL into a polymer at anything other than crazy-high levels of pressure.
Chen and his colleagues determined that poly(GBL) is "chemically equivalent" to the commercially used biodegradable bioplastic, P4HB, but much cheaper and easier to produce because P4HB can only be derived from living bacteria. They hope poly(GBL) will end up replacing P4HB in the future, and maybe even other types of plastic, if they can figure out how to make production costs comparable.
The results have been published in Nature Chemistry, and Chen has also filed a patent for the discovery.

Koh Rong projects ‘will not bring pain’, DPM says

Koh Rong Beach
Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng has sought to reassure residents of Koh Rong, an island off the coast of Preah Sihanouk province that has been leased to a local tycoon, that they would not be adversely affected by planned development projects.
The popular backpacker destination was granted to Royal Group chairman Kith Meng in 2008 under a 99-year lease. Speaking at the opening of Meng’s five-star Royal Sands hotel on the island, Kheng, who is also the interior minister, said that the roughly 600 Cambodians living on the island had nothing to fear from other planned projects.
“The development will also bring benefits to the villagers,” he said. “The developments will not bring pain to the residents. The government would not allow the company’s developments to bring hurt to the villagers.”
He added that the government was working with Meng to employ the so-called tiger skin policy, whereby villagers living on the sites of planned developments can remain on their land while the developer builds around their property.
Boun Narith, local coordinator for rights group Licadho, said that the island’s inhabitants had campaigned since the lease was granted to be able to remain where they are, so Kheng’s assurances might provide some comfort.
“If the authorities use the tiger skin [policy] for the villagers, they will keep some of the land and not be badly hurt by the development,” he said.
Chan Sanch, 40, a Koh Rong resident, said he did not object outright to Meng’s plans.

“But we also need the authority to think of our farms and homes as well,” he added.

CNRP lawmakers set to retake seats in N/A

CNRP acting president Kem Sokha and Interior Minister Sar Kheng shake hands at the National Assembly earlier this year.
The CNRP yesterday announced its lawmakers will attend Wednesday’s plenary session at the National Assembly, ending the party’s almost two-month boycott that began after the brutal beating of two of its lawmakers outside parliament by pro-government protesters.
Following the October 26 assault, the CNRP boycotted the assembly citing safety concerns, amid political tensions also stemming from the issuance of an arrest warrant against CNRP president Sam Rainsy, who remains abroad in self-imposed exile.
Yesterday, opposition spokesman Yem Ponharith said talks held between CNRP acting president Kem Sokha and Interior Minister Sar Kheng on Thursday had paved the way for opposition deputies to return to the assembly.
Ponharith said that comments on Sunday by Cambodian People’s Party spokesman Sok Eysan suggesting opposition lawmakers, if they continued their boycott, could have their salaries frozen and government-provided Lexuses withdrawn had not influenced the decision.
Wednesday’s agenda items include ratifying an amendment to the Marrakesh agreement, the convention which established the World Trade Organisation; voting to back the ASEAN biodiversity centre; and approving a new law on animal health and production.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Hun Sen will fly to Thailand on Friday for an official two-day visit, the Foreign Ministry announced yesterday.
During the visit, Hun Sen will meet Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, deliver a speech at the Thailand-Cambodia Business Forum, and sign off on four pacts including MOUs concerning a planned border crossing in Stung Bot and labour cooperation.

Police Forces 'Failing Vulnerable Victims'

An investigation has identified four forces as "inadequate" in the way they protect and support those at risk.

Some forces 'inadequate' in how they help victims.

Sky Correspondent
More than two thirds of police forces in England and Wales are failing vulnerable victims, including children suffering sexual abuse.
An investigation by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) identified four forces as "inadequate" in the way they protect and support those at risk.
Bedfordshire, Essex, Staffordshire and Surrey were judged as having "serious weaknesses" in their ability to safeguard and investigate cases involving vulnerable people.
Inspectors said 27 forces "caused concern" or had "areas for improvement" or both. No force was rated as "outstanding".
Zoe Billingham, who led the investigations, said: "Victims of crime and anti-social behaviour who are vulnerable in some way are in greatest need of the police's protection and support but HMIC's inspection found that most forces require improvement in how they protect and support them."
In response to the HMIC report, Staffordshire Police said : "We are developing a range of improvements to give confidence to our communities, partners and HMIC that Staffordshire Police is keeping people safe."
Essex Police accepted the findings as "profoundly disappointing" but added "a huge amount of work has been under way for the last two years and more to improve how Essex Police protects vulnerable people".
Bedfordshire Police told Sky News: "A significant amount of work has been done since the inspection earlier in the year and we are pleased to see positive improvements emerging."
And Surrey Police's response was: "The Force has fundamentally overhauled its capabilities and substantially increased the number of officers and staff working in these areas."
The findings come at the same time as a linked HMIC inquiry warned units dedicated to domestic abuse are on the verge of being "overwhelmed" following a 31% surge in reported cases.
This spike is partially due better recording of domestic abuse violence and the increased willingness from victims to come forward.
The report said all 43 forces in England and Wales had responded well to a highly critical 2014 report and all had made some level of improvement.
But it stressed all vulnerable victims needed the same level of support and "even small failures may have tragic consequences".

Muslim Nations Form Coalition To Fight Terror

Saudi Arabia announces the formation of a 34-country alliance to protect Islam from groups that "terrorise the innocent".

Saudi Arabia invests heavily in its military

Saudi Arabia says a coalition of 34 Islamic nations has been formed to fight "any terrorist group".
Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan and several Gulf Arab and African states make up the coalition, a statement said.
The joint statement published on state news agency SPA said: "The countries here mentioned have decided on the formation of a military alliance led by Saudi Arabia to fight terrorism, with a joint operations centre based in Riyadh to coordinate and support military operations."
The announcement said there was "a duty to protect the Islamic nation from the evils of all terrorist groups and organisations whatever their sect and name which wreak death and corruption on earth and aim to terrorise the innocent."
Iran, a mainly Shia Islam country, was absent from the list.

It is Sunni Saudi Arabia's rival for influence in the Arab world and has been accused of backing one of the groups involved in fighting in Yemen, a conflict that also involves Saudi Arabia.
A different Saudi-led coalition that is supporting Yemen's internationally recognised government said on Monday night that a planned truce with the country's Shia rebels has been postponed for 12 hours.
Saudi Arabia's defence minister said that the coalition will not just confront Islamic State, but "any terrorist group in front of us".

He added that the coalition will coordinate with the major world powers and international organisations, according to Reuters.
There was no initial word from any of the other countries involved.
The United States has been keen to see Gulf Arab states doing more to aid the military campaign against Islamic State.

The announcement of the coalition comes after Saudi Arabia succeeded in bringing Syria's disparate opposition groups to the negotiating table.
Syrian President Bashar al Assad remains opposed to negotiating with groups that he sees as terrorists but there are hopes that Russia may force him to make concessions.
On Tuesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Moscow to meet with his opposite number Sergei Lavrov and Mr Putin himself to try to extract from them an agreement that while Mr Assad should probably go, much of his regime could be preserved.

Angelina Jolie Pitt accepts presidency of film fest panel

Bophana Center founder Rithy Panh gives actress Angelina Jolie Pitt a tour of the centre earlier this year as part of research for the adaptation of First They Killed My Father.

The Cambodia International Film Festival received the endorsement of one of Hollywood’s biggest stars yesterday with the announcement that actress Angelina Jolie Pitt had accepted the presidency of the festival’s newly formed Honorary Committee.
The festival’s sixth edition will run from December 4 to 10 showcasing more than 130 films from 34 countries in eight screening venues across Phnom Penh.
The Honourary Committee was established this year “gathering professionals in cinema who support the development of the Cambodian film industry”, a CIFF press release said.
“Its members, originating from different backgrounds and continents, share the will to contribute to producing or promoting meaningful films in Cambodia, to see Cambodian cinema rise nationally and internationally.”
Jolie Pitt’s acceptance of the presidency was a “great honour for Cambodia and an encouragement for the new generation of filmmakers”.
The actress and filmmaker was quoted in the press release as saying:
“I’m proud to support the Cambodian International Film Festival and Cambodia as a home for vibrant and innovative filmmaking.
Cambodia’s rich history, long culture and talented people mean it has a huge amount to offer the region and the world.
I am honoured to be part of the 2015 Festival Committee, and looking forward to the exciting mix of Cambodian and international films we will be sharing with you this year.”
Other CIFF Honourary Committee members include filmmakers Rithy Panh, Kalyanee Mam, Sok Visal, Caylee So and James Gerrand, producer Nicholas Simon and film festival curator Park Sungho.
Jolie Pitt’s relationship with Cambodia stretches back to 2000 when she starred in the action adventure film Tomb Raider, which helped put Angkor Wat on the global tourism map.
She later adopted her son Maddox from the Kingdom and after establishing the Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation wildlife sanctuary was given Cambodian citizenship.

She is currently filming an adaptation of the Khmer Rouge biography First They Killed My Father in Siem Reap and Battambang for Netflix.

For many LGBTs, a secret life

Members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community dance in a circle during a Pride Week event last year in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district.
LGBT Cambodians face a formidable level of prejudice and discrimination, which for many means a life lived in secrecy and isolation, a major new study of attitudes has revealed.
The survey of almost 1,600 people, straight and LGBT, across seven provinces, published yesterday, found that a third of the 478 LGBT people questioned had not come out to a single person. Of those who took the risk, the vast majority confided only to close friends and family.
“We discovered that the situation for LGBT people is not as bad as it was in the past, but there is still discrimination,” said Da Ny, a representative of Rainbow Community Kampuchea, which commissioned the report.
“We found for instance, that it is still commonplace in Khmer for LGBT people to be referred to as khteuy or PD [a French slang term for a pedophile], which are hurtful pejorative terms.”
A fifth of LGBT Cambodians questioned said they wished they were straight, the report says. In addition, only 20 per cent of gay men and just over a third of lesbians who have chosen to tell someone about their sexuality have come out to their current partner or lover, indicating a significant number were trapped in straight relationships.
Among the 1,085 straight people questioned, 45 per cent described themselves as supportive of LGBT people, 43 per cent opposed and 12 per cent neutral. But negative attitudes are seemingly amplified when the question theoretically involved respondents’ children.
Close to half of those opposed said they would reject their child if the youngster revealed they were LGBT, while close to a fifth of straight respondents who were parents said they would force their LGBT children to date the opposite sex. Those respondents also said they would consider obliging an LGBT child to marry, even though forced marriage is illegal in Cambodia.
Somewhat incongruously, when asked what came into their mind when they heard the term “LGBT people”, a majority said “it’s in their nature” or “they are born that way”.
The report’s authors called on the government to allow same sex couples to marry, to make them eligible for family books and to grant them adoption rights. It also recommended transgender people be allowed to change their travel and other identification documents to reflect their chosen gender.
Council of Ministers spokesman Phay Siphan declined to comment on the government’s official stance yesterday, but said, on a personal level, he was sympathetic to most of the recommendations, and suggested campaigners seek to establish a legal challenge to secure marriage rights for LGBT couples.

“LGBT people go to work and pay taxes like everyone else, so have the right to participate fully in society,” he said. “If a gay couple ... wants a marriage certificate, they should apply for one, and if it’s refused, take their case to court.”
